
Coast Guard operation: Four drug smugglers arrested with 8- kg marijuana in Patharghata

Bangladesh Coast Guard conducted an operation on Saturday and arrested four drug traffickers along with 8 kilograms of marijuana, valued about Tk 240,000 at Patharghata in Barguna.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid confirmed this information through a press release.
The press release said , based on confidential information, a joint operation was conducted by the Coast Guard Station Patharghata and the police from Saturday night at 8:00 PM until Sunday morning at 10:00 AM in the Katakhali Bazar area under Patharghata Police Station in Barguna. During the operation, 8 kilograms of marijuana worth 240,000 taka and two digital weighing machines were seized, and four drug traffickers were arrested.
The arrested drug smugglers are: Md. Kamruzzaman Babu (32), Md. Rubel Mia (31), Md. Shahin Byapari (41), and Md. Al-Amin (20), all residents of Patharghata, Barguna.
The seized marijuana, along with all evidence and the arrested individuals, were handed over to the Patharghata Police Station for legal action.
To maintain the country’s law and order situation, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has been conducting round-the-clock patrols. Through these efforts, the law and order situation in coastal and riverbank areas under the Coast Guard’s jurisdiction, as well as the prevention of all types of smuggling, have significantly improved. The Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future.
