To enhance skills in information technology, a computer programming and quiz competition for students from various schools and colleges in the Barishal Division was organized by the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), Regional Office, Barishal on Saturday  afternoon at the BCC Hall Room in Khadem Complex, Baidya Para, BM College Road, Barishal.

The event was presided over by Mohammad Jasim, Regional Director of the Bangladesh Computer Council, Barishal. The chief guest was Additional District Magistrate Sufal Chandra Goldar, while Mohammad Irfan, Assistant Professor of the Computer Science and Engineering Department at Barishal University, was the special guest. Students from various schools and colleges participating in the programming and quiz competition, along with their guardians, were also present.

The competition, organized by the Bangladesh Computer Council, was divided into two categories: Category-1, an ICT-related quiz competition for students from classes 6 to 8, and Category-2, a programming competition for students from classes 9 to 12. At the end of the competition, a total of six winning students—three from each category—were awarded crests, certificates, pens, notebooks, T-shirts, and caps.

The guests at the event emphasized that to keep pace with the world, proficiency in information technology is essential. They stressed the importance of utilizing talent and time to advance the country through ICT. The Regional Director of the Bangladesh Computer Council stated that the institution aims to foster industrial entrepreneurship in ICT, promote industry growth, create opportunities in the ICT sector alongside entrepreneurs, and enhance the skills of school and college students in ICT. He highlighted that to meet the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, there is a need to create various ICT fields, and raising awareness is crucial. The Bangladesh Computer Council organized this event to instill intellectual and innovative thinking among school and college students.
