Examinees decreased, centers increased : Over 1.3 lakh candidates appear for HSC exams under Dinajpur Education Board

The number of examination centers has increased this year compared to last year, but the number of examinees has decreased by about 10,000 in the HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) examination, which began today under the Dinajpur Education Board.
 
The H.S.C. exam will  start from  Thursday .
 
Dinajpur Education Board Examination Controller Professor Mir Sajjad Ali said that a total of 1 lakh 3 thousand 832 candidates from 661 colleges will participate in the HSC examination under this education board this time. In the HSC examination last year (2024), a total of 1 lakh 13 thousand 420 candidates from 662 colleges were there.
 
 This means that the number of candidates has decreased by 9 thousand 588 compared to last year.  213 examination centers have been set up for the HSC examination in 8 districts of Rangpur division under the Dinajpur Education Board this time.  There were 204 examination centers. Although the number of candidates has decreased, this time there has been an increase of 9 examination centers.
 
The examination controller said that out of a total of 1 lakh 3 thousand 832 examinees this year, 49 thousand 360 are male examinees and 54 thousand 472 are female examinees.
 
He said that the total number of examinees is 25,405 from the middle science department. In this department, there are 12,982 male examinees and 12,423 female examinees.
 
There are a total of 71,130 candidates in the Humanities department. In this department, 32,160 are male candidates and 39,114 are female candidates.
 
There are a total of 7,295 candidates in the Business Education Department. Of these, 4,360 are male candidates and 2,935 are female candidates.
 
And in music education, 2 out of 2 examinees are boys.
 
This year, the number of regular HSC examinees is 87,390. Among the regular examinees, 39,894 are male examinees and 47,496 are female examinees.
 
There are 16,311 irregular examinees. Among the irregular examinees, 9,393 are male examinees and 6,918 are female examinees. Despite passing last year, 131 are taking part in the examination this time to improve their GPA. Of these, 73 are male examinees and 58 are female examinees.
 
Dinajpur Education Board Chairman Professor Md. Touhidul Islam said that this time, multiple vigilance teams have been formed to conduct the HSC examination in a peaceful and error-free environment. The regular vigilance team consisting of college teachers will be responsible for the examination centers. In addition, 7 Jhatika Vigilance Teams have been formed consisting of the board's own officers and retired teachers. These Jhatika Vigilance Teams will be responsible for inspecting all the examination centers of the board.
 
He said that this time, the Dinajpur Education Board authorities have made all kinds of preparations to conduct the SSC examination in a peaceful and error-free environment.
 
It is mentioned  that this year's HSC exam will begin with the Bangla first paper exam today. This exam will end on August 10. After that, the practical exam will start from August 11 and will have to be completed by August 24.
