Even after 21 days of the abduction in Noakhali Sadar Upazila, the law enforcement agencies have not been able to rescue the two sisters. The victim's family is spending their days in extreme anxiety over this. 

On Saturday  afternoon, the matter was confirmed by the investigating officer of the case, Sub-Inspector (SI) Fakhrul Islam of Sudharam Police Station. He said that yesterday, Friday, a case was filed under Section 7 of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. Earlier, on the evening of April 26, the two sisters were abducted from the house of Fayez Mistri in Ramanandi village of Char Matua Union of the upazila.

The abducted are SSC examinee Tahrim Harun Falah (15) and her younger sister Tasnuba Harun Taha (12).

The mother of the two schoolgirls, Farida Akhter, said her elder daughter Tahrim Harun Falah is an SSC candidate at Pana Mia T.F. High School and her younger daughter Tasnuba Harun Taha is a seventh-grade student at Khadijatul Kobra Women's Madrasa. Her elder daughter Tahrim Harun Falah was being harassed for a long time on the way to and from school by Sajjadur Rahman Shawon, son of Omar Faruk from Char Banchharam village. Even though she informed Shawon's grandfather, maternal grandfather, and other family members about this, they did not take any steps or actions. As a result, Shawon became more enraged.

She further stated that on the evening of April 26, taking advantage of her being outside the house, Shawon and his classmates entered her house and abducted her two daughters, Tahrim Harun Falah and Tasnuba Harun Taha, based on the previous incident. Later, after searching in many places and failing to find them, she informed Shawon’s family, but they said they knew nothing about it.

The victims' maternal uncle Wahidur Rahman Apu said, my two nieces have been in a state of abduction for the past 21 days. Even after filing a complaint with the police, they have not been rescued. The police have had several meetings at the station with the family of the accused Sajjadur Rahman Shawon. But they could not find any clue. Finally, last Thursday night, after having another meeting with Shawon’s family at the station and failing to get any information, the police took the complaint from my elder sister Farida Akhter and arrested Sajjadur Rahman Shawon.

The father of the abducted girls, Harun Ur Rashid, said, my elder daughter Falah had completed 6 subjects of the SSC exam. On the evening of April 26, Falah was preparing for the next day’s exam at her reading table. At that time, the miscreant Shawon and his classmates abducted both my elder and younger daughters. I don’t know where my daughters are, how they are. It is the age of information technology, but even after 21 days of the incident, the police have still not rescued my daughters. I want the whereabouts of my daughters.

Sudharam Model Police Station’s SI Fakhrul Islam also said that in this incident, a young man named Sajjadur Rahman Shawon (20) has been arrested and sent to jail through the judicial court. Legal action will be taken upon investigation.
