A humble farmer has demonstrated how deep the love for one's party can go—so much so that he is willing to gift a cow he has raised for six years to the chairperson of his beloved political party.
This farmer wishes to present his cherished cow as a gift for Eid-ul-Adha to the Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and former Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia.
The farmer’s name is Md. Sohag Mridha.,His father's name is Belayet Hossain. He is a resident of Uttar Jhatibunia village, Amragachia Union, Mirzaganj Upazila, Patuakhali District.
Farmer Sohag Mridha shared, “Since the cow is black in color, everyone calls it ‘Kala Manik’. I’ve raised this Friesian breed cow for six years. Its weight is around 35 maunds (approximately 1,400 kg), and its market value is around Tk 1 million (10 lakh).”
He further added, “A few years ago, a farmer gifted a cow to Sheikh Hasina. Since then, I’ve been thinking that I would one day gift my cow to my party leader. On this sacred occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, I want to present this cow to my leader, Begum Khaleda Zia.”
A pickup van has already been hired to transport the cow to Dhaka, and the journey will begin very soon.
Amragachia Union BNP President Rafiqul Islam said, Sohag Mridha is a dedicated BNP activist. He, along with his wife and mother, has raised this cow with care. I’ve heard he has hired a truck to go to Dhaka.”
Mirzaganj Upazila BNP President Shahabuddin Nannu said, I heard about this matter through you, and I appreciate and welcome such love for the party.”
