Forest Department land acquisition blocked in Savar, 5 people including BIT officer injured

Five people, including Savar Birulia Union Forest Department officer Mohidur Islam, were injured in an attack by terrorists in Savar, Dhaka, for obstructing the occupation of forest department land. The injured have been rescued and taken to the Upazila Health Complex for treatment. The incident took place in the Chhota Kaliakoir area of Birulia Union, Savar, on Friday afternoon.
The injured are: Kaliakair Beat Officer (Forester) Md. Mahidur Rahman, Forest Guard Shahidullah Kaiser, Bazlur Rahmam Bepari, Alauddin and Gardener Bappi Hossain. The seriously injured Beat Ranger Officer Mahidur Rahman of the area has been admitted to the emergency department of Suhrawardy Hospital in Dhaka. He has undergone surgery in several places. Several stitches have been placed on his hands, feet and head.
Injured forest guard Shahidullah Kaiser said, Lokman Hossain Dhali, a local influential person, occupied 65 acres of forest department land in Chhota Kaliakoir area of Birulia union in Savar. We went to rescue that land today. When we were working to break the fence and signboard of the occupied land, Lokman and his terrorist force attacked us with sharp weapons. At that time, five people, including a BIT officer, were injured in the attack with their sharp weapons. Later, the injured were rescued and given treatment. After receiving the information, the police visited the scene.
Savar Birulia Union Forest Department Officer Mahidur's brother Nazmul Islam told the reporter, "I am with the patient in the hospital, but I cannot say anything related to the case of this incident."
An office employee said that after Friday evening, some land grabbers in the area went to occupy the forest department's land and put up a signboard. When the forest department personnel went to the spot after hearing the news, the land grabbers beat them up severely. While 8-10 people were injured, 5 officials were seriously injured.
Savar Model Police Station OC Jewel Mia confirmed the news at 10:30 pm and said that an influential land grabber gang tried to occupy government property of the Forest Department in Birulia Union of Savar by putting up signboards. When they tried to stop them, the gang members hacked and injured five people, including a Forest Department official. Upon receiving the information, police were quickly sent to the spot and rescued the injured and the situation was brought under control.
