Jibannagar Press Club Convening Committee introduction, view exchange meeting held

A meeting was held to introduce and exchange views of the newly -formed convening committee of Jibannagar Press Club with leaders of various political parties, businessmen and intellectuals at the Press Club auditorium on Wednesday afternoon.
The meeting was presided over by Jibannagar Press Club Convener Ripon Hossain and Upazila BNP General Secretary Shajahan Ali were present at the introduction and exchange of views. Upazila BNP Senior Vice President Abul Kalam Azad, Senior Joint General Secretary Moen Uddin Moen, Municipal BNP President Shajahan Kabir, General Secretary Shamsuzzaman Dablu, Islami Andolan Bangladesh Jibannagar Thana Branch President Maulana Sajidur Rahman, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Jibannagar Upazila Branch President Shahjamal, Upazila Volunteer Party Member Secretary Ekhlasur Rahman Russell, Upazila Chhatra Dal Convener Zillur Rahman, Jibannagar Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Convener Sohel Parvez, Jibannagar Upazila Jubo Dal Joint Convener Saiful Islam, Zakir Ahmed Shamim, Minajul Islam, Municipal Volunteer Party Convener Ashraf Uddin, Member Secretary Sumon Biswas, Upazila Chhatra Dal Member Secretary Mokchhedur Rahman Rimon and leaders of various political parties.
Introduction and exchange of views The invited guests expect that the misreporting or yellow journalism that has been going on in all parts of the country for a long time must be changed. Journalists must work as a true mirror of society. Extortion in the name of journalism must be stopped. They must be partners in the development of society through transparent journalism. People from all walks of life in the upazila will work shoulder to shoulder with journalists.
The program was hosted by Asim Sayeed, joint convener of Jibannagar Press Club and Jibannagar correspondent of the English daily Country Today. Journalists from various electronic, print and online media working in the upazila were present at the program.
