
JnU Journalists’ Association marks 19 years of campus journalism

The Jagannath University Journalists’ Association (JnUJA) celebrated its 19th founding anniversary on Friday with a series of vibrant events on campus.
The celebration began at 10:00 AM with a colorful rally that started in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s office and concluded at the Mukta Mancha. A cake-cutting ceremony followed, officially inaugurating the day’s festivities.
Professor Dr. Sabina Sharmin, Treasurer and Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university, attended the event as the chief guest. In her speech, she said, “JnUJA has played a significant role in campus journalism over the past two decades. I hope this contribution continues in the future.”
JnUJA President Imran Hossain said, “This two-decade journey is a proud moment for us. We remain committed to truth and objective journalism.”
Also present were Professor Dr. Md. Tazammol Hoque, Proctor of the university; Dr. Muhammad Anwarus Salam, Director of the Public Relations and Publication Office; and Professor Dr. Md. Manjur Morshed Bhuiyan, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies.
As part of the celebrations, a reunion and fruit festival was organized, where former and current members of the association came together in a joyous gathering.
It is worth mentioning that the Jagannath University Journalists’ Association was established on June 20, 2006, as a professional platform for journalists working on the university campus.
