Main accused in murder of Asha Moni arrested in Rangpur Sadar.

The main accused in the murder of Asha Moni, discussed in Rangpur Sadar, has been arrested by the Kotwali Police Station. He was arrested from the Moulviganj area at 6 pm on Thursday with the help of Mithapukur Police Station.
The arrested Mokhlesur Rahman Hasu (29) is the son of Mohammad Saidul Islam of Kursha Balrampur village of Mominpur Union in Rangpur Sadar Upazila.
He was arrested under Section 11(a)/30 of the Women and Children Repression Act 2000 (Amendment 2020) of Kotwali Police Station.
The case file shows that Asha Moni (22) and Mohammad Mokhlesur Rahman Hasu got married four years ago according to Islamic law. After the marriage, a daughter was born to them. Since the marriage, her husband Hasu and his family members have been physically and mentally torturing Asha Moni for dowry. At that time, Asha Moni's father, the plaintiff Abdus Sattar, sold his land and gave her Tk 50,000 in cash and Tk 30,000 in furniture as dowry. But even then, the torture did not stop. On March 31 at 11 pm, when she expressed her inability to bring Tk 100,000 as dowry, Hasu Mia hit his wife with a sharp Chinese axe on the head and various parts of her body, causing serious injuries. The family members came and admitted Asha Moni to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
After a month-long treatments , Asha Moni was declared dead at the hospital at 7 am on April 30.
Officers Incharge of kototoali police said that in the interest of justice, a quick investigation will be conducted and a report will be submitted to the court.
