
Parents, two sisters injured in son's attack in Porsha

Four people, including a mother, father and two sisters, were injured in a mosque imam's attack in Porsha, Naogaon on Friday night in Shisha Sardar Para village of the upazila.
The injured are Shamsuddin (55), son of the deceased Mofiz Uddin of the same village, and his wife Rahima Begum (45), two daughters Marjina (35) and Shamsunnahar (28). Among the injured, Shamsuddin was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition was critical, while the other three were admitted to Porsha Health Complex.
The injured were allegedly beaten by Shamsuddin's son, mosque imam Hafez Sohel Rana (26), his brother Manjurul (40), Manjurul's wife Nasirin (30), and sister-in-law Chifar Uddin's son Milan (45). In this regard, injured Shamsuddin's son-in-law Shariful Islam filed a case with Porsha Police Station on Saturday, naming the four as accused. In view of this, the police station arrested Sohel Rana, Manjurul and Milan from their respective homes.
The other accused Nasrin is said to be absconding. Confirming the matter, SI Gausul Azam, the investigation officer of the case, said that three of the four accused have been arrested and sent to jail on Saturday. He said that efforts are underway to catch the absconding accused Nasrin.
