Sundarganj (Gaibandha) Correspondent

The 280th branch of Karmasangsthan  Bank has been  inaugurated in Sundarganj Upazila of Gaibandha district Thursday  afternoon at  Upazila Parishad hall room to mark the occasion.

Dr. A F M Matiur Rahman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank and former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, attended as the chief guest. Md. Amirul Islam, General Manager (Audit Division) of the bank, delivered the welcome speech.

The meeting was presided over by Md. Mukhlesur Rahman, Deputy General Manager of the Rajshahi Divisional Office of the bank, while Arun Kumar Chowdhury, Managing Director of the bank, addressed the event as a special guest.

The event was conducted by DGM of Loan and Advance Division Mashiur Rahman. Among others, Upazila BRDB Chairman Iftekhar Hossain Popel and Branch Manager (Senior Officer) Md. Abdul Salek Miah also spoke. The program was attended by local dignitaries, journalists, entrepreneurs, and people from various walks of life.

After the discussion, the chief guest officially inaugurated the branch by cutting a ribbon. The new branch is located on the 2nd floor of Golam Rabbani Multi Complex on Sundarganj Upazila Road. Loan cheques were also distributed among selected entrepreneurs during the event.

According to the organizers, the establishment of this branch will enable local small and medium entrepreneurs to access low-interest loans under easy terms. This initiative will help create new entrepreneurs, promote self-employment, and integrate unemployed youth into the workforce. Notably, increased participation of women is expected to boost the local economy. This branch will not only serve as a financial support center but also play a crucial role in sustainable development.
