3 establishments fined for producing, storing unhealthy food in Boalkhali

A mobile court has fined Tk 30,000 to three establishments for producing and storing food in an unhygienic environment in Boalkhali, Chattogram.
The drive was conducted by Boalkhali UNO Md. Rahmat Ullah in the Shakpura Military Pool area of the upazila on Monday afternoon.
During the drive, Shah Amanat Restaurant was fined Tk 20,000 and Shahgadi Restaurant Tk 5,000 for producing and storing food in an unhygienic environment under Section 53 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009.
In addition, one person was fined Tk 5,000 under Section 14 of the Compulsory Use of Packaged Products Act, 2010 for not having proper labels and ingredient lists on packaged products.
UNO Md. Rahmat Ullah said that such operations will continue in the public interest.
