5 Awami League leaders, activists arrested in Nazirpur

Police arrested five leaders and activists of Awami League and Jubo League in Nazirpur, Pirojpur.
Nazirpur Police Station OC Mohammad Mahmud Al Farid Bhuiyan confirmed the matter to reporters on Sunday morning.
The arrested are - Habibur Rahman Sheikh (65), son of Mohammad Azahar Ali Sheikh of Uttar Hogla Bunia village of Shakharikathi union number 5 in Nazirpur upazila and organizing secretary of the upazila Awami League, Yunus Uddin Howlader's son of Chauthai Mahal village of Sriramkathi union number 8 and general secretary of ward number 4 Awami League Md. Abul Bashar Hawlader (61), son of Khalek Gazi of Sheikhmatia Union No. 7 and Vice President of Ward No. 6 Awami League Mohammad Kamrul Gazi (42), son of Abdul Khalek Miah of Kalardowania Union No. 9 and Joint Secretary of Ward No. 7 Awami League Mohammad Jahangir Alam Dakua (50), son of Abul Awal Fakir of Deulbari Dobra Union No. 1 and General Secretary of Union Awami League Md. Kamruzzaman Mintu (45).
Nazirpur Police Station OC Mahmud Al Farid Bhuiyan confirmed the matter to this reporter and said that they were arrested from their respective homes during a drive on Saturday (December 14) night. They have been arrested as unknown accused in the vandalism of the BNP office in the upazila, explosives case and house burning case in Nazirpur Police Station. This is our regular operation. They were arrested as a result of this drive.
He also said that on Sunday (December 15), the accused were handed over to the learned court in various cases.
