Md. Hasan Ali, Baghaiichhari (Rangamati)

A total of 66 meritorious students selected in the Shaheed Halim Liaquat Memorial Scholarship Examination in Baghaichhari, Rangamati, have received certificates, awards and educational materials. In addition, eight Talent Pool scholarship recipients were provided with one-time financial assistance.

The awards and certificates were distributed at a ceremony organized by the Shaheed Halim Liaquat Memorial Foundation, Baghaichhari, on Friday as part of the ‘Shaheed Halim Liaquat Memorial Scholarship Examination-2026’.

The event was moderated by Md. Abdul Jalil, Coordinator of the Shaheed Halim Liaquat Memorial Foundation, Baghaichhari. Rangamati Hill District Council Member Biltu Chakma attended as the chief guest, while Acting Principal of Kachalong Government Degree College Md. Kamal Hossain Mir was present as the Guest of Honour. The programme was chaired by Syed Mohammad Abdul Bari, Adviser to the foundation.

Organizers said 350 students from different educational institutions in Baghaichhari participated in the scholarship examination held on November 25. Of them, 66 students were selected for scholarships. Among the recipients, eight received Talent Pool scholarships, 28 received A Grade scholarships and 30 received General Grade scholarships.

Speakers at the event said such scholarship programmes play an important role in nurturing students’ talent and academic potential. They emphasized that families, teachers and society must work together to develop students with morality, humanitarian values and a sense of social responsibility. They also noted that scholarships provide not only financial support but also significant encouragement for students in their future educational journey.

Chief Guest Biltu Chakma said the main objective of the initiative is to encourage talented and promising students from remote areas and support them in their educational journey. He expressed hope that the programme would be expanded on a larger scale in the future.

Teachers from different educational institutions, journalists, members of social organizations, students and guardians attended the programme. .
