Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen said, the ACC itself has a bad reputation, If you point it out, we will take action.
He made this remark on Monday while speaking as the chief guest at a public hearing organized by the ACC at the Lalmonirhat Zila Parishad auditorium. In his address, the ACC Chairman said, “Everyone claims to be against corruption—so how does corruption still happen? It's because of one or two individuals. A fraction of a percent are involved in corruption. Many officials are honest, but they still do not perform their duties, which is also unacceptable.”
He further noted, “Since August 5, under Dr. Yunus’s leadership, the government has been free from corruption. Previously, even the Prime Minister’s Office was not immune to bribes. To build a corruption-free nation, we seek your cooperation.”The public hearing was held under the slogan, “Let’s Build a Corruption-Free Bangladesh Together,” organized by the ACC’s Integrated District Office in Kurigram and supported by the Lalmonirhat District Administration.
Presided over by Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner H.M. Rakib Hayder, the event featured special guest Miah Muhammad Ali Akbari Azizi. Among others who addressed the event were ACC Rangpur Divisional Director Md. Tarikul Islam, Superintendent of Police Md. Tarikul Islam, and ACC Director General Akhtar Hossain.
