Allegation of grabbing minority land under political influence in Gobindaganj

Allegations have surfaced that land belonging to a minority family has been forcibly occupied under political influence in Gobindaganj Upazila of Gaibandha.
Gourab Sarkar, son of Nirupam Sarkar of Nakai Union, alleged that six শতক of their inherited 72 decimal land near Nakaihat High School and adjacent to a community clinic has been illegally occupied by Abdul Majid Pradhan, son of the late Abdul Baki Pradhan.
According to the complaint, a previous land sale of 15 শতক in Kumarghari mouza was allegedly used to create forged documents showing transfer of six শতক from Nakai mouza. Abdul Majid later reportedly used political influence to mutate the land in his name and has begun infrastructure construction despite a court injunction.
Gourab Sarkar claimed that as a minority family, they are facing injustice and administrative inaction. He has sought intervention from higher authorities to recover the land.
In response, Abdul Majid Pradhan stated that he legally purchased the land from Md. Abdur Rouf Pradhan and Abdullah Al Azad and denied the allegations.
