Following media reports highlighting the residential hardships of embedded security personnel at Jahangirnagar University (JU), the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP headquarters has initiated steps to resolve the ongoing housing crisis by securing two dedicated buildings from the university administration.

Currently, 150 embedded Ansar members under the Dhaka Administrative Zone are deployed to maintain overall campus security at JU. In response to long-standing accommodation challenges, the Ansar administration recently held high-level discussions with university authorities.

In October 2026, the District Commandant of Dhaka Ansar met with the JU Vice-Chancellor to formally address the living conditions of the deployed personnel and request a permanent solution. Following the bilateral discussions, the university administration allocated two structures within Building No. 2 to accommodate the security force.

Necessary living amenities, including beds and ceiling fans, have already been installed in the newly allocated buildings. However, the physical relocation of the personnel remains pending completion of gas utility connections for cooking facilities.

Ansar officials stated that coordination with the university administration is underway to complete the gas line installations within the coming week, enabling the full transfer of personnel to the new quarters shortly thereafter. The force also expressed appreciation for constructive media reporting that brought the logistical constraints to public attention, reiterating its commitment to ensuring welfare, dignity, and suitable working conditions for its members.
