Members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) demonstrated humanitarian service by safely rescuing two missing children from separate puja mandaps in Hathazari and Rauzan upazilas of Chattogram and reuniting them with their families.
On Monday night, Ansar personnel PC Halhaj Uddin and Atikul Islam found a three-year-old child, Samir Hossain, crying at the Fateyabad Puja Mandap in Hathazari upazila. Following public announcements via loudspeaker and search efforts, the child's parents, Mozaffar and Roksana, were located, and the child was handed over to them safely.
In a separate incident at around 3:30 pm on the same day, Ansar member Sujan Ahammad spotted another five-year-old child crying at the Gouranga Temple in Rauzan upazila. He comforted the child, provided food, and conducted a six-and-a-half-hour search with the assistance of local residents to locate the child's family.
At around 9:00 pm, the child was safely handed over to his parents, Rubel and Junuk, in the presence of the local Union Parishad Chairman and Puja Celebration Committee officials. Parents in both instances expressed gratitude to the Ansar members for their prompt action.
