 Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur has taken a comprehensive program to celebrate the first martyrdom anniversary on the occasion of July Martyr's Day.

As part of the program, a journey will start from the Begum Rokeya University campus at 6:30 am on Wednesday, July 16th, towards Babanpur village in Jafar Para, Madankhali Union, Pirganj Upazila, Rangpur, and at 7:30 am, the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed will be visited.

Then at 9:15 am, a mourning rally will start from the south gate of the administrative building of the university campus and will circumambulate the campus and various roads of the city. At 10 am, the foundation stone of the Shaheed Abu Sayeed Memorial will be laid at the Shaheed Abu Sayeed Square at the intersection of the park in front of the university. Later, a discussion meeting will be organized at the university's Independence Memorial Ground. Shaheed Abu Sayeed's father Mohammad Maqbul Hossain will be the chief guest at the discussion meeting and the families of the martyrs of the July Movement will be the special guests.

The honored guests at the discussion meeting will be Professor Dr. Asif Nazrul, Advisor to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Foreign Employment, Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, Advisor to the Ministry of Education, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Farooq E Azam Bir Pratik, Advisor to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Professor Dr. Mohammad S. M. A. Faiz, Chairman of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission, Professor Dr. Mohammad Tanzim Uddin Khan, Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Siddique Jobayer, and Member of the University Grants Commission, Professor Dr. Mohammad Tanzim Uddin Khan. The discussion meeting will be presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Shawkat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of Rangpur Begum Rokeya University.

To mark the day, a drawing competition will be organized in the university cafeteria that afternoon and a prayer and Milad Mahfil will be organized at the Central Jame Masjid.
