BTMA protests attacks on journalists

Barishal Television Multimedia Association.( BTMA,) has strongly condemned and protested against the attacks, cases and torture on journalists in various parts of the country, including Barishal.
This condemnation and protest was expressed at the general meeting of BTMA held on Monday night. The meeting, chaired by the organization's president ATN Bangla and ATN News' Barishal Bureau Chief Humayun Kabir, was moderated by the organization's general secretary and senior correspondent of NTV, Akhtar Faruk Shahin.
The speakers at the meeting condemned the attacks, cases and torture on journalists working in various parts of the country and said, "While the democratic BNP government that came to power through fair and impartial elections is taking a strict stand against injustice and corruption across the country, some miscreants are continuously attacking, suing and torturing journalists. They are basically doing all this to cover up injustice and corruption. If these attacks, cases and torture are not stopped immediately, the journalists of Barisal working in television, online and multimedia will take to the streets to ensure their professional safety."
