The annual general meeting was held  and committee of Mirzaganj Upazila Welfare Association in Dhaka have been formed on Friday. 

 Md. Ashraf Ali Howlader has been elected  as president, and Shahabuddin Khan as the executive president. 

Two general secretaries will serve in this committee formed for two years. Advocate Khalilur Rahman will serve for the first year, and Advocate Shafiqul Islam Mizan will serve for the second year.

 BNP Vice Chairman and former Home and Commerce Minister Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and Chief Election Commissioner Adv  Syed Mahbub Hossain announced the new committee at the Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Auditorium.

At the event, the chief guest and the leaders of the new committee expressed their commitment to work together for the overall development and progress of Mirzaganj Upazila of Patuakhali in the coming days and called for everyone's cooperation. They said, not political division, but overall development of the upazila is possible if everyone works from their own position for their own area.

Chief guest of the program, Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury said, Patuakhali is one of the underdeveloped districts of the country and Mirzaganj is underdeveloped as an upazila. If we all work hand in hand and contribute to development work from our respective positions, we will no longer have to lag behind.

He also said, we do not believe in division. Weak politicians create division. We will take Mirzaganj forward with everyone in the coming days.

At the program, Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator and Additional Secretary to the Government Md. Shahjahan Mia said, with time, development is happening everywhere, starting from the roads in the remote areas of the country. However, only Mirzaganj is lagging behind in this regard. Therefore, in addition to the infrastructure development of this region, everyone should come forward for the overall welfare of the entire population. We want to live well with everyone. I believe that the Welfare Association will play an important role in that work.

He believes that everyone should work so that the young generation can move to a better position in the coming days by educating them in work-oriented education.

At the event, DIG of Bangladesh Police Ruhul Amin said that in this country with a large population, emphasis should be placed on educating the youth in technical education. Because there is a huge demand for technically skilled people in the country as well as abroad. Therefore, in addition to the overall development of the area, a Technical Training Center (TTC) can be established in Mirzaganj for the youth.

If we want to achieve the overall welfare of the upazila, there is no alternative to moving forward with everyone, said Zafar Imam Shikder, Director of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society.

He said that we have to move forward with everyone, regardless of party affiliation. In this regard, we will try our best to cooperate from our respective positions.
