Construction of school building without leaving road in Tongibari causing suffering

There have been allegations that a new building of a government primary school has been constructed in Nayna village of Yashlong union in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj district without leaving a road. Local resident Riyad Hossain Faruk and his family have suffered due to this.
A field visit revealed that there is currently no permanent road leading out of Riyad Hossain Faruk's homestead located behind the new building of Nayna Government Primary School. It is alleged that although a low-lying land in a part of the school was filled in on the condition of making a road, the building was erected on the entire land without leaving that road during the construction of the building.
Riyad Hossain Faruk said, “There was a low-lying land in front of the school. I was supposed to be given a road for movement, so I filled the land with my own funds. But during the construction of the building, the entire land was occupied and the building was built without leaving any road for my movement. Now I am forced to use the main gate of the school to move around, which can create an undesirable situation in the long run. I want a permanent road solution.”
The school’s headmaster said, “I was not consulted regarding the road in filling this area.”
Local social worker Siraj Talukder said, “Those who filled the land have helped in some parts of the school, but there was no written agreement that a permanent road would be provided. Still, there is no obstacle to their movement.”
Meanwhile, a section of locals believe that this problem has arisen due to the lack of prior planning and coordination between the school authorities and the local people. Now the intervention of the local administration and a quick solution are needed.
The affected family is now going door to door with the administration in the hope of getting an alternative or permanent road for transportation.
