Ariful Islam Dulal, a deer hunter was arrested with 300 traps in Sundarbans. He is also Deputy chief of a gang.
Ariful Islam Dulal is the son of Abdul Khalek Miron of Korailya village in Patharghata upazila of Barguna.
Dilip Majumdar, team leader of Smart Patrolling Team 2 of East Sundarbans division, Bagerhat, confirmed this on his mobile phone and said that on Monday morning at around 9:30 am,
Members of Smart Patrolling Team 2 were patrolling the forest area on foot from the side of Sukhpara canal near Kachikhali Sanctuary in Sharankhola Range of Sundarbans and saw a poacher setting a deer hunting trap. At that time, he was arrested along with 300 deer hunting traps and other goods.
The poacher was identified as Md. Ariful Islam Dulal, deputy head of Nasir gang of Patharghata, who is active in deer hunting in Sundarbans. He has been handed over to the forest office in Kachikhali Sanctuary of Sundarbans for legal action.
