Dr. Govinda at Jamaat rally : I was political prisoner of Awami League

Bangladesh National Hindu Mahajote Secretary General Dr. Govinda Chandra Pramanik has accused Awami League of long-term deprivation and deception of the Hindu community.
He said that Awami League has denied the representation of the Hindu community since the first day of its establishment and has consistently subjected them to deception and deprivation.
He made these comments while speaking as the guest at the national rally of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Saturday.
Dr. Govinda said, we have been political prisoners of Awami League for a long time. The process of politically excluding Hindus has started since the day the party was formed in 1954. Awami League was formed with the aim of destroying the representation of the Hindu community.
Praising Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, he said that Jamaat is not just a political party, it is a "universal university". From here, people get education in morality, religious ideals and good governance. He said, you can come here and get ideal education in leading life.
Dr. Govinda demanded elections under the PR (Proportional Representation) system and separate electoral system for minorities. He said, if elections are held in this country without the PR system, fascism will return again. We have once said goodbye to this fascism, and we do not want it again.
He also said, if we want to ensure the fair rights of minorities, there is no alternative to a separate electoral system and proportional representation.
Dr. Govinda also expressed concern about criminal activities like extortion, terrorism and tender rigging in contemporary Bangladesh. He said, such immoral activities have become a threat to society and the state.
Addressing the crowd present at the rally, he said, by joining Jamaat-e-Islami, you are entering an ideological environment where your life will be blessed, even if you do not have political power.
