A father named Delwar Hossain (55) died in a road accident on his way home after finding a groom for his marriageable daughter and the groom's house on Wednesday afternoon in the Life General Hospital area of the Chandpur-Faridganj-Raipur road.
The deceased Delwar Hossain is the son of the late Abdul Latif of Ali Raja Haji Bari (Gyne's house) of West Rupsha village of Rupsha North Union of Upazila. He is the father of 2 daughters.
It is learned that Delwar Hossain, who returned to the country a few years ago after living abroad and earning a living by farming, went to visit the groom's house in the Nayahat area of Gobindapur North Union of the upazila on Wednesday afternoon for his marriageable eldest daughter.
Nephew Sohel Hossain was on his way home on his motorcycle in the afternoon when he was hit by a sand truck near the Life General Hospital area on the Chandpur-Faridganj-Raipur road and was seriously injured.
The truck could not be stopped as it fled. Locals rescued Delwar Hossain in his injured condition and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
The death was confirmed by the duty doctor of the Upazila Health Complex, Md. Omar Faruk.
Faridganj Police Station OC Mohammad Shah Alam said, police were sent to the spot after receiving the news. Necessary measures will be taken after recovering the body.
