Fire Service and Civil Defense Week-2026 was celebrated in Nesarabad, Pirojpur, with the theme "Firefighters have only one goal, to keep property and lives safe."

A colorful procession was taken out from in front of the Nesarabad Upazila Fire Service Station on Wednesday morning. The procession circled various roads in the upazila and ended at the station premises.

Upazila Executive Officer Amit Dutta was present as the chief guest in the program organized by Nesarabad Fire Service and Civil Defense Station. Journalists Anwar Hossain, Debashish Mandal Ashish, Fire Station In-charge Moniruzzaman, Fire Leader Sohel Rana, firefighter members, members of the Upazila Red Crescent Society and local dignitaries were also present.

At the end of the procession, the fire service's modern firefighting equipment and various equipment were displayed. During this time, speakers emphasized the importance of increasing public awareness in dealing with fires and disasters and urged everyone to be vigilant.

Fire service officials said at the event that they have always been faithfully performing their duties to protect people's lives and property. However, modern technology and necessary equipment are essential to further improve the quality of service. They demanded an increase in manpower, a second call vehicle, and the provision of breathing apparatus to work safely in smoke.

The speakers also said that due to the lack of adequate protective equipment, firefighters often fall ill while working in smoke. Therefore, they demanded that these necessary equipment be ensured immediately.
