
Five tourists detained in Tanguar for consuming Marijuana

Five tourists have been detained by a mobile court for consuming marijuana during their visit at Tanguar on Wednesday from the Madhyanagar police station headquarters market area near Tanguar Haor.
The detainees are: Tahsin Ahmed, son of Harun Rashid from Nalitabari Upazila of Sherpur district; Ishaq Ahmed Shanto, son of Enayet Kabir of Charpara Road, Mymensingh; Anaf Rajin, son of Abul Kalam of Boundary Road; Nasir Hossain, son of Emsail Hossain of Outdoor Stadium Road; and Ahmed Mahfuz, son of Nasar Ali of Sanki Para.
On Thursday, the Madhyanagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) stated that on Wednesday morning, after consuming marijuana and losing self-control, the five tourists misbehaved with local shopkeepers and pedestrians in the Madhyanagar market area near Tanguar Haor.
When traders and pedestrians informed the Upazila Administration of the incident, a mobile court detained the intoxicated tourists.
Later, around 11:30 AM on Wednesday, after confessing to their offense before the mobile court, each of the detained tourists was sentenced to five days of simple imprisonment and fined.
On Thursday, Madhyanagar police stated that the UNO and Executive Magistrate Uzzal Roy, acting as the judge of the mobile court, delivered the verdict, and the convicts were sent to Sunamganj District Jail the same afternoon.
