The Health Ministry has instructed all hospitals to provide free medical treatment to those injured in the Uttara’s Milestone College plane crash, which claimed multiple lives and left scores critically injured.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health said the government will ensure treatment for all patients injured in Monday’s tragic plane crash at the Milestone School campus in Uttara.
The ministry instructed that all private hospitals treat the injured free of cost.
“If any hospital is unable to provide the necessary care, they have been advised to immediately transfer patients to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery or Dhaka Medical College Hospital,” said the ministry.
This directive was issued following instructions from the Health Adviser.
Meanwhile, the government declared a one-day state mourning to be observed on Tuesday following the tragic crash.
To mark the mourning, the national flag will be kept at half-mast at all government, semi-government, and autonomous offices, as well as at all educational institutions across the country on Tuesday, said a press release issued by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.
The national flag will also be flown at half-mast at all government and private buildings and at Bangladesh missions abroad in observance of the state mourning.
Besides, special prayers will be offered at religious institutions and places of worship across the country for the departed souls and for the quick recovery of the injured.
