High Commissioner assures simplification of Indian visa process in courtesy meeting with IMCAB

Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Dinesh Trivedi assured simplification of Indian visa process in a courtesy call with Indian Media Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (IMCAB).
The courtesy call was held at 11:30 am on Thursday at the conference room of the Indian High Commission at Baridhara in the Dhaka city.
The delegation, led by IMCAB President Shaheen Chowdhury, was attended by 10 members of the organization's executive committee, including General Secretary Masum Billah.
During the meeting, IMCAB leaders highlighted the existing complications in obtaining Indian visas for Bangladeshi citizens, the long queues in getting appointment slots after submitting online applications, and the issue of simplifying the visa process for medical aspirants.
In response to the delegation's statement, the High Commissioner said, "We are looking into the problems being faced in obtaining Indian visas." Initiatives are being taken to ensure that patients wishing to go to India for treatment can get visas easily.’
He also said that the High Commission is trying to understand why there is a delay in getting a slot to submit the application directly after submitting the visa application online. He expressed hope that this problem will be resolved soon.
Stressing on increasing people-to-people contact between the two countries, the High Commissioner said, ‘The more people-to-people contact between Bangladesh and India increases, the stronger the friendship and relations between the people of both countries will be.’
In this meeting held in a cordial atmosphere, the High Commissioner personally exchanged greetings with each member of the IMCAB delegation and inquired about them.
The IMCAB delegation also included Basudeb Dhar, Quddus Afrad, Mir Afroz Zaman, Abu Ali, Aminul Haque Bhuiyan, Nirmal Chakraborty, Zakir Hossain and Monir Hossain.
First Secretary of the Indian High Commission Gokul VK was present at the time.
