Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has commented that those who are selling the name of Islam are not even close to Islam. He said that their evidence is that 'Akimuddin' has been removed from the monogram. A party is behaving in a fascist manner, proving that they too do not want peace and progress in this country.
He was delivering the chief guest speech on the closing day of the annual conference of Al-Jamiatul Islamia Azizul Uloom Babunagar Madrasa in Fatikchhari, Chittagong on Friday.
The Home Minister also said that it took 23 years for Bangladesh to achieve independence. And it took 16-17 years to free the people from the hands of the fascist and anti-ulama government. Many scholars and scholars gave their blood at Shapla Chattar. The names and grave addresses of many of them are not yet known. The country has been freed from fascist rule through many sacrifices.
There are some miscreants in this country who are doing politics using the name of Islam. Yet, it is said that Islam is not mentioned in their election manifesto. Those who are declaring themselves as Islamic parties, have omitted 'Akimuddin' from their monogram.
Highlighting the political ideology of BNP, Salahuddin Ahmed said, "They believe in Islamic values. They have established the politics of nationalist and Islamic values of martyr President Ziaur Rahman. They want to build a united Bangladesh by bringing together all the people of the country."
Earlier, Home Minister paid a courtesy call on Amir of Bangladesh Hefazat Islam Allama Shah Muhibullah Babunagari and later attended the luncheon. Among others, State Minister for Religion Shamim Kaiser Lincoln, MP from Chittagong-2 constituency Sarwar Alamgir, MP from Chittagong-6 constituency Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury, MP from Chittagong-7 constituency Hummam Quader Chowdhury, Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Jahidul Islam Mia, and District Superintendent of Police Masud Alam were present.
