Human chain held under banner of conscious civil society in Joypurhat

A human chain has been formed demanding the immediate commencement of work on the important road from the central mosque of Joypurhat city to Jamalganj Road via Bairagirmor, Chitrapara, Notunhat.
The hour-long human chain was held in the city's Notun Hat area under the banner of the conscious civic society on Thursday afternoon. Later, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Executive Officer of Joypurhat Municipality.
Joypurhat city BNP general secretary Abu Raihan Ujjal Pradhan, district Krishak Dal convener Selim Reza Duke, member secretary Manjure Maula Palash and District Tractor Welfare Owners Association Mashiur Rahman Ellot, district Mahidla Dal vice-president Moushumi Pradhan, Parvez Sangram and people from different professions spoke at the human chain.
The speakers said that the important road of the city has been in a bad condition with potholes and holes for many years. Although the work order for this road was given with the funding of the World Bank, the contractor did not start the work due to the summer. Thousands of people are suffering due to this. Therefore, if the work is not started within 7 days, the municipality will be surrounded.
Municipality Executive Engineer Abu Zafar Md. Reza said, "We have given the contractor three points of pressure to start the work. The work will be completed within the stipulated time."
