BNP National Executive Committee member and former Chhatak Upazila Parishad chairman Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury Mizan said, "Chhatak and Doarabazar areas are the strongholds of BNP.
In the past, you voted for me and elected me as the chairman of Chhatak Upazila Parishad. In the 2018 election, which was rigged, the people of Chhatak-Doarabazar voted for me with the paddy sheaf symbol, but during the vote counting, I was shown as defeated through rigging. I have always been soaked in the love of the people of Chhatak and Doarabazar. For that, I am grateful to you."
He further said, "A party is telling people stories of heaven, spreading various confusions by saying that they will get heaven through votes. On the one hand, they are announcing candidates in the election field, and on the other hand, they are trying to sabotage the election.
He made these remarks while addressing a rally organized at a traffic point in Chhatak town on Thursday afternoon after distributing leaflets and holding a huge procession on the 31-point program for state structure reform announced by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.
The rally was presided over by Chhatak Upazila BNP convener Farid Ahmed, and conducted by Sunamganj District BNP convener committee member Faruk Ahmed.
