July Maas Uprising Day observed at JU

Jahangirnagar University (JU) observed July Uprising Day, marking the fall of the fascist Sheikh Hasina regime, through a series of programs including the rendition of the national anthem, a victory rally, a marathon, and the unveiling of a commemorative magazine.
The day's events began at 11:00 am on Wednesday with the collective singing of the national anthem at the university's Central Shaheed Minar. A victory rally then marched through different roads of the campus before concluding at "Odommo-24," a monument built in memory of the July Uprising.
Following the rally, JU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan unveiled "Jagaran," a commemorative magazine highlighting Jahangirnagar University's contribution to the July Uprising, at the Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (JUCSU) building.
The Vice-Chancellor said, like the spirit of Bangladesh's 1971 Liberation War, the July 2024 Uprising and the sacrifices of its martyrs should be remembered by the nation for generations.
The program was attended by Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof. Dr. Md. Shamsul Alam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Admin) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Sohel Rana, deans of different faculties, teachers, university officials, JUCSU leaders, representatives of various student organizations, officers, employees, and other members of the university community.
Earlier, at 6:00 am, JUCSU organized a marathon titled "36 July JAKSU Run." The event was inaugurated by Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Admin) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nazrul Islam.
