July Mass Uprising Day observed in Kurigram through various programs

July Mass Uprising Day was observed in Kurigram with due respect and solemnity, reflecting the spirit of the July Revolution through various commemorative programs.

On the occasion, different social, political, and student organizations organized a series of events to honor the martyrs of the 2024 mass uprising and reaffirm their commitment to building a discrimination-free New Bangladesh.

At around 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the district administration arranged a wreath-laying ceremony at the July Martyrs' Memorial at College More. Among those who paid tribute were Deputy Commissioner Anna Purna Debnath, Superintendent of Police Khandaker Fazle Rabbi, District Council Administrator Sohel Hosnain Kaykobad, Kurigram District BNP Convener Mostafizur Rahman, Joint Convener Hasibur Rahman Hasib, along with representatives of various organizations and students from different educational institutions.

A moment of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs, followed by special prayers seeking eternal peace for their souls.

Later, a reception and discussion meeting was held at the Municipal Auditorium near College More to honor the families of the July martyrs and the July fighters. Local coordinators, intellectuals, and members of civil society addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of the July Mass Uprising and its role in shaping the nation's democratic aspirations.

In addition, essay writing, recitation, and drawing competitions for children related to the July fighters were organized.
