BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, accompanied by her two daughters-in-law, visited her younger brother Shamim Eskander’s house in Gulshan on Saturday night.
Khaleda, seated in the front seat of a blue car, left her Gulshan residence around 9:13pm for Shamim’s residence, BNP Media Cell member Atikur Rahman Ruman told UNB.
Upon her arrival, he said, Khaleda was welcomed with flowers by her brother, his wife Kaniz Fatema, and Nasrin Ahmed, the wife of her late brother Sayeed Eskander, along with other family members.
"Madam has come to attend a family gathering at her younger brother’s house. She is accompanied by her daughters-in-law, Dr Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Shamila Rahman,” Ruman said.
He said the BNP chief will spend some private time with her family members there.
This is the first time in over a decade that Khaleda Zia has visited the residence of a close relative.
On May 6, Khaleda, along with her two daughters-in-law, returned home around four months after receiving advanced treatment in the UK.
