The Laksham Municipality' has announced its budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year showing estimated revenue of Tk 195 crore 92 lakh 82.
The budget of Tk 1,424 cr has been announced by the Municipal Administrator Kausar Hamid at a press conference in the auditorium of the Municipal Council on Wednesday afternoon.
Municipal Engineer Zakir Hossain and Chief Accountant Akhter Hossain were present at the time.
Officials and employees of all sectors of the municipality, including people, local journalists and political and social leaders were present .
The highest income in this year's budget has been estimated at Tk 195 crore 92 lakh 82 thousand 424 and the expenditure has been estimated at Tk 188 crore 19 lakh 70 thousand.
According to the budget, the municipality will spend 7 crore 73 lakh taka this year.
A surplus of 12,424 taka has been recorded. In addition, this year's budget includes waterlogging relief, civic amenities—
Increasing facilities, preserving the environment and building modern infrastructure, environmentally friendly beautification of pond, new shopping complex, bus terminal, waste management, water treatment plant, road development and drainage system were given priority.
Facilitation of citizen services, specially with the help of AWI, NWU and OTAW projects
and infrastructure development plans have been raised.
The issue of involving local citizens in the evaluation also finds a place in this budget.

The budget is people-friendly. This budget has been prepared without imposing any new taxes.
The 50 projects in the 9 wards of the municipal city are going on.
Development activities worth crores of taka are being implemented and around 100 crore taka will be spent in the next financial year.
Work on development projects has been undertaken. In addition, various projects are being worked on to enhance the benefits of the municipal citizens.
Initiatives have been taken to implement multi-faceted projects worth about Tk 450 crore by 2030.
It is mentioned that Laksam Municipality is being developed as a smart city, an eco-friendly, clean city, traffic-free and information technology-based.
