May Day and National Occupational Health and Safety Day was  celebrated in Netrakona with a strong commitment to building a prosperous Bangladesh free from discrimination by ensuring fair rights for workers, maintaining a safe environment at work, and maintaining good employer-worker relations.With the theme 'Workers and owners united, we will build this country anew', a colourful May Day rally  was taken out from Moktar Para ground at 10:30 am at the initiative of the district administration. The procession was led by Deputy Commissioner Banani Biswas, Additional Superintendent of Police Saheb Ali Pathan, District BNP Convener Prof  Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque, District BNP Member Secretary Dr. Rafiqul Islam Hilali, former president of the district BNP, former member of parliament, freedom fighter Ashraf Uddin Khan, senior joint convener Adv Mahfuzul Haque, joint convener Tajezul Islam Faras Sujat, Bazlur Rahman Pathan, SM Moniruzzaman Dudu, inspector of Mymensingh factories and establishments inspection department Nusrat Binte Salam, assistant director of Mymensingh regional labor department Israt Jahan, president of Nagorik Oikya Adv  Nazrul Islam, president of Islami Andolon Md. Nurul Islam Hakim, president of district nationalist workers' party Md. Akiqur Reza Khan Khokon, central organizer of the National Citizen Committee Pritam Sohag, senior joint convener of the Gan Odhikar Parishad Adv  Abdul Qadir, general secretary of the Revolutionary Workers' Party Sajeeb Sarkar Ratan, Sohrab Uddin Akand of the National Citizen Committee, president of the district motor vehicle employees' workers' union Convener Abdur Razzak, President of District Workers Welfare Federation Md. Kamal Uddin, General Secretary of Netrokona District Tiles and Mosaic Welfare Organization Md. Haque Mia, Office Secretary of CNG Driver Alam Ullah, General Secretary of District Construction Workers Union Haji Md. Abdul Aziz, etc. The procession circled various important roads of the district town and met at the local public hall for a discussion meeting. 

At the beginning of the discussion meeting, a minute's silence was observed in memory of all the martyrs killed in the mass uprising in July-August.
