A husband and wife couple have died mysteriously in Porsha, Naogaon in Shitli Dangapara village of Nitpur union of the upazila on Tuesday night.
On receiving information on Wednesday morning, the police recovered the body of Abdul Hai (60) hanging from the fan of the house with a rope around his neck and the body of his wife Momena Begum Felani (35) lying in their house. Momena is Abdul Hai's second wife.
Locals believe that Abdul Hai committed suicide by hanging himself after strangling his wife due to a family dispute.
Police Station OC (Investigation) Shah Alam Sardar said that they recovered the bodies after receiving information. They believe that Abdul Hai strangled his wife Felani at night due to a family dispute.
Later, he himself committed suicide by hanging himself with the fan hook of the house. The body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy. The real cause of their death will be known after the autopsy. A GD has been filed with the police station in this regard.
