N'ganj school renamed after July movement martyr Farhan Faiyaz

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj

The name of Borpa Government Primary School in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj has been officially changed to Shaheed Farhan Faiyaz Borpa Government Primary School. This information comes from an official gazette issued on Tuesday, signed by Rebeka Sultana, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. The renaming was done in accordance with the Government Primary School Naming and Renaming Policy 2023.

It should be noted that Farhan Faiyaz was a youth from Narayanganj who actively participated in last year’s July Movement. Like many across the country, Narayanganj also saw widespread participation of students and the public in that movement for democracy and rights. Tragically, Farhan Faiyaz was martyred during one such demonstration. His sacrifice stands as a shining example in the democratic history of the nation.

This renaming serves as a recognition of Farhan Faiyaz’s contribution, ensuring that future generations will remember his sacrifice. It is not merely the renaming of a school—it marks the beginning of a new chapter in patriotism and self-sacrifice.
