A new chapter of the SAARC Journalist Forum has been formed in Tripura, with Pranab Sarkar as its Convenor.
For the first time in Tripura, Tripura chapter of the SAARC Journalist Forum, an international organization of journalists, has been established.
Pranab Sarkar, a distinguished journalist and President of the Agartala Press Club, has been entrusted with the responsibility of convenor of this chapter.
The president of the forum’s central committee, Raju Lama, officially announced the formation of the Tripura chapter from Nepal today. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in creating a platform for international journalists in Tripura. The organization, comprising journalists from SAARC member countries, plays a significant role in fostering professional communication and cooperation among South Asian nations. Pranab Sarkar, the convenor, has been tasked with forming the full-fledged committee for the Tripura chapter.
It is mentioned that Pranab Sarkar currently serves as the all-India editor of the Journalist Union and has recently been nominated as a member of the National Press Club of India. This initiative is expected to open new horizons for the journalistic community in Tripura.
The central secretary general of the SAARC Journalist Forum, Md. Abdur Rahman, congratulated Pranab Sarkar in a message, stating, "With Tripura’s renowned journalist Pranab Sarkar taking charge of the SAARC Journalist Forum’s Tripura chapter, the forum will reach an even stronger position."
President of the SAARC Journalist Forum India chapter, Dr. Aniruddha Sudhanshu, and the president of the Bangladesh chapter, Nasir Al Mamun, also extended their greetings to Tripura’s newly- appointed Convenor Pranab Sarkar, in a message.
