Recognizing merit, guiding dreams:  Sherpur DC Farida Yasmin supports  underprivileged top scorers

Khorshed Alam, Sherpur

Standing beside two financially constrained yet exceptionally meritorious students whose higher education was threatened by poverty, Sherpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Farida Yasmin has taken full responsibility for their ongoing academic journey.

Farjana, a meritorious student from Gazirkhamar Union in Sherpur Sadar, and Hafsa, a bright student from Rajnagar in Nalitabari Upazila, both achieved GPA-5.00 in the recently published Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations. While both students were preparing for college admissions, the severe financial hardship of their families left their dreams of higher education in uncertainty.

Upon learning about their circumstances, the Sherpur District Administration stepped forward to ensure their studies would not be halted due to a lack of funds. District Commissioner Farida Yasmin personally undertook the responsibility of supporting their education.

As part of the initiative, the administration has arranged comprehensive assistance, covering college admission fees, essential learning materials, and ongoing academic expenses to ensure an uninterrupted educational path.

Expressing deep gratitude, Farjana and Hafsa shared that the District Commissioner's initiative has rekindled their hopes for the future. DC Farida Yasmin reaffirmed that the district administration remains committed to nurturing the potential of talented and underprivileged students through such humanitarian support in the days ahead.
