Renovation work to begin on road adjacent to DU Arts Building

The renovation work of the road between Dhaka University’s Arts Building and Lecture Theatre Building (up to Madhur Canteen) will begin on Thursday.
Funded by the university itself, the 565-foot long and 25.5-foot wide road will be overlaid with 4-inch RCC concrete. The estimated cost of the renovation is BDT 28.35 lakh.
Due to the construction work, all types of vehicular movement on this road will be restricted from May 8 to May 23. Everyone is requested to use alternative routes during this period.Besides, the renovation of the road from in front of Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall to the corner near Sir P. J. Hartog International Hall is expected to begin in the last week of June. This project, too, will be funded by the university.
The 675-foot long and 20-foot wide road will also receive a 4-inch RCC concrete layer, with an estimated cost of BDT 31 lakh. The implementation process for this project is currently underway.
