SMP's public awareness campaign on Jiniea App : 30,000 leaflets distributed in 700 mosques, banners to be put up at 150 points in city

A unique initiative has been taken to increase awareness among citizens about the Jinia app launched by the Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP).
30,000 leaflets were distributed simultaneously to 700 mosques in Sylhet metropolis on Friday.
The Imam Association and the Police Department have helped implement this initiative. After prayers, leaflets were distributed to Muslims to highlight the effectiveness, benefits and how to use the app.
Police said that 10,000 more leaflets will be distributed not only in Muslim religious places of worship but also in temples, churches and places of worship of Hindu, Buddhist and Christian religions. Through this initiative, the SMP wants to provide technology-based security and humane police services equally to all religions, castes and citizens.
To attract the attention of the city residents, banners related to the Jinia app will be put up at 150 important points in Sylhet city from 7 pm on Saturday. The main message and services of the app will be highlighted.
In addition, promotional videos of the app will be displayed on LED screens in different places of the city for the next week. In this, citizens will easily get an idea about the usage and benefits of the app.
To inform the young society about the technology-friendly police services, a campaign will be run in schools, colleges and universities using the Geniea app. Through this, students will not only build a friendly relationship with the police, but also be aware of the use of technology.
This entire campaign will be carried out not only at the field level, but also through social media. The features, usage methods and citizen services of the Geniea app will be highlighted through videos, posts and live sessions.
SMP Commissioner Abdul Quddus Chowdhury PPM said, Jinia App is not just technology-based, it is a reflection of a humane police. Our goal is to bring the police closer to the people, and people can get police services without going to the police station.
