State Minister Sheikh Faridul Islam committed to building world-class cancer hospital in Rampal
Sohel Rana Babu, BagerhatState Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Sheikh Faridul Islam MP has expressed his interest in building a world-class cancer hospital in the region, promising to provide free cancer treatment to 100 patients in Rampal, Bagerhat.He expressed this commitment in his speech as the chief guest at the inauguration of the cancer screening and evaluation service organized at the conference room of ‘Amader Gram Cancer Care and Research Center’ located in Jhanjhaniya, Rampal on Saturday The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Dr. Selim Reza, the founding director of ‘Our Village Cancer Care and Research Center’. Bagerhat District Council Administrator Barrister Sheikh Mohammad Zakir Hossain, Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Golam Mohammad Baten and Police Superintendent Md. Jamirul Islam were present as special guests.Also present at the ceremony were Bagerhat Civil Surgeon Dr. AS Md. Mahbubul Alam, Bagerhat 250-bed District Hospital Superintendent Dr. Asim Kumar Samaddar, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Services Santosh Kumar Nath, Deputy Director of the Department of Environment Md. Asaduzzaman, Rampal Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ms. Tamanna Ferdousi, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abhijit Chakraborty,Rampal Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Sukanta Kumar Pal and others. The speakers at the event highlighted the importance of providing cancer screening and quality medical services at the grassroots level and welcomed the initiative to establish a world-class cancer treatment facility in Rampal.
