
Suspect in multiple cases including murder arrested in Munshiganj

Md. Milon Miji alias "Chakku Milon" (33), a named accused in multiple cases including at least two murder cases related to the killing that took place during the student-public protest in Munshiganj on August 4th last year, has been arrested by Sadar Thana police.
He was also accused in a case involving the vandalism of a restaurant named Shobuj Chhaya, owned by Sultan Ahmed, former president of the district unit of Jubo Dal (Youth Wing of BNP), located in the Khalist area of the town.
According to police sources, Milon was arrested around 12 PM on Monday from the Lichutola area of the city based on a tip-off. The operation was led by Sadar Thana’s Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Sajib Dey with assistance from Constable Mehedi.
Confirming the arrest, Inspector Sajib Dey stated that there is concrete evidence of Milon’s involvement in the attack on students during the anti-discrimination movement in Munshiganj. In connection with that incident, he faces two murder cases and one case of vandalism, among a total of five cases filed at Sadar Thana. Furthermore, Milon is also a suspect in over 13 cases, including drug-related charges, across both Narayanganj and Munshiganj districts. Milon is the son of Akkas Miji of South Courtgaon area of the city.
