
Two departments, one female hall renamed at JnU

Jagannath University (JnU) has renamed two of its academic departments and one female residential hall. The Department of Sculpture has been renamed to "Three-Dimensional Art and Design," and the Department of Land Management and Law has been renamed to "Law and Land Administration."
Additionally, the university’s only female hall, previously named "Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall," has been renamed to "Nawab Faizunnesa Chowdhurani Hall."
The changes were announced through three separate official orders signed by the university’s acting registrar, Dr. Md. Sheikh Gias Uddin, on Tuesday.
Regarding the hall renaming, the official order states that in the 101st Syndicate meeting of the university, a decision was made to rename "Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall" as "Nawab Faizunnesa Chowdhurani Hall."
Concerning the Department of Sculpture, the order states that the recommendation to rename it as "Three-Dimensional Art and Design" was approved by the Syndicate.
As for the Department of Land Management and Law, the decision to rename it to "Law and Land Administration" was taken following a formal application and memorandum submitted by students, along with recommendations from the departmental academic committee and the executive committee of the Faculty of Law.
