Two drug dealers arrested with huge quantity of 'ganja' by RAB in Barishal

RAB-8 conducted a raid on Tuesday night and arrested two drug dealers along with huge quantity of ganja ( cannabis) in Barishal on Wednesday, said a RAB press release.
A team of RAB-8, Barishal, Sadar Company conducted an anti-drug operation on Tuesday midnight in the Torki Bus Stand area under Gournadi Police Station of Barishal district and made the arrests.
The arrestees are Sahedul Islam Rahul (27), father–Nure Alam, village–Nowga, Kupadi UP, police station–Matlab, district–Chandpur and 2. Khalilur Rahman Sohag (25), father–Nuru Miah, village–Kuthijhuri, police station–Bahubal, district–Habiganj.
Based on secret information, it was learnt that two individuals were stationed on the paved road to the west of Abul Khaleq Munshi Jame Mosque adjacent to Torki Bus Stand under Gournadi Police Station of Barishal district for the purpose of buying and selling illegal drugs. To verify the authenticity of the information, the operational team reached the location. Upon sensing the presence of RAB, the two individuals tried to flee but were apprehended.
According to the information provided by them, 15 -kg of cannabis, wrapped in nine separate packets of polythene, was recovered, hidden in a special way inside a wooden cupboard loaded on a furniture-filled pickup van. The vehicle used for drug transportation bore the number Dhaka Metro-N 12-9712. Along with the six documents of the vehicle, two android mobile phones and Tk 8,200 in cash earned from drug sales were seized during the body search of the accused. Subsequently, a regular narcotics case was filed against the arrested individuals at Gournadi Police Station of Barishal district, and the accused along with the recovered items were handed over to the police.
