Two members of inter-dist power transformer theft gang arrested in Kalapara

Kalapara police have arrested two thieves, who were part of an inter-district power transformer theft gang, along with the stolen transformers in Kalapara, Patuakhali.
They were arrested from Amtalipara village in Baliatoli union of the upazila on Thursday afternoon.
Kalapara Police Station OC Md. Jewel Islam said, ka arrested Rajib Hawlader (25) and Amir Hossain (43) are active members of an inter-district electricity transformer theft gang. They had been stealing and selling electrical transformers from secluded places in rural areas of Patuakhali and Barguna districts for a long time.
The OC also said that the arrested accused were sent to jail through the court on Friday. The investigating officer will bring them into police custody and apply for a remand in the court to interrogate them to obtain information about the unknown accused and recover the stolen transformer, the OC said.
