VC visits renovation work of road, lift adjacent to DU Arts Building

Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka, inspected the renovation work of the road and lift adjacent to the Arts Building on Monday, afternoon.
At that time, the university’s Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, and officials from the engineering office were present. After that, the Vice-Chancellor visited Madhur Canteen and tasted the food to assess its quality.
It is to be noted that the renovation work of the road between the Arts Building and the Lecture Theater Building (up to Madhur Canteen) started on May 8. Under the university’s own funding, a 565-foot-long and 25.5-foot-wide road is being paved with 4-inch RCC concrete. Due to the renovation work, all types of vehicles will be prohibited on this road until May 23.
Meanwhile, the renovation work of the lift in the Arts Building is also nearing completion. The lift will be opened for students very soon.
