The humane Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj has launched a waste management drive titled "Green and Clean Narayanganj" in the industrial hub of Fatullah by introducing 100 waste bins.

Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mia inaugurated the initiative on Monday at Fatullah Bazar, with the aim of making the widely discussed *"Green and Clean Narayanganj" campaign sustainable and permanent to ensure a cleaner and healthier urban environment.

The campaign slogan is: “Narayanganj city, our home – let us be aware, let us keep it clean.” Under this initiative, waste bins have been installed in Fatullah Union to improve waste management and prevent water logging. Plans are also underway to set up 100 such bins in areas outside the city corporation's jurisdiction.

DC Zahidul Islam said, "We want to keep this city clean at any cost. We appeal to every citizen – to save this city, it must be kept clean. We are standing by your side. As citizens, we must all take responsibility."

The DC further said, "While digging canals, we removed about 3,500 truckloads of garbage. But later, many people again started dumping waste into the canals. To raise awareness, leaflets have been distributed and signboards installed. In addition, two bins will be set up in every ward outside the city corporation. Committees have been formed in every union to collect waste, and collectors are being brought under monitoring."

The event was presided over by Narayanganj Sadar UNO Taslima Shirin. Also present were Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Alamgir Hossain, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Fatullah Revenue Circle Mohammad Asaduzzaman Noor, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Sadar Upazila Sadia Akter, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Siddhirganj Revenue Circle Debjani Kar, Narayanganj Chamber of Commerce and Industries Director Riad Mohammad Chowdhury, and leaders from various levels.
